There are four basic statistics that can tell you how to play certain players:
VP $ IP (voluntarily put money into a pot) – it’s% of the times the player is in a pot. For example, VPIP 40% means the player is in 40% of the pot. It measures the leakage of pre-flop players: if the player calls 40% of the Preflop’s hand, he is a very loose and very possible player that he is a bad player. For a full ring table (10 players), VP $ IP 10% -20% is considered tight. VP $ IP 30% or more very loose.
VPIP has good use: compare this by maintaining a preflope, we can get a good idea about how a player plays a preflop.
PFR (preflope rises) – it is% of times the player raises the preflope. Useful to compare these stat to VPIP. Obviously, VPIP will always be higher or equal to PFR, because VPIP calculates calls and raises the preflope.
When there is a big difference between VPIP and PFR (for example: VPIP = 20%, PFR = 3%) You can assume you are dealing with players who play a passive preflope. When the difference is 4% or less (for example VPIP = 20%, PFR = 16%), and VP $ IP is in the standard value range (15% -20% for full ring, a little more for abbreviation) You can assume you play against the player The tight (tag), which is the most profit player on low and medium bets. You must be your own tag, it’s more than prove that it is the most profit play style, and works for low, medium and high bets.
AF (aggression factor) – This measures post-failed aggressiveness from a player. It must always be compared to VP $ IP: players in many pots usually do dominoqq not have high AF, just because many times the players will have garbage, and will not have the hand made or draw to play. This will tell you how much you have to respect the player’s bet.
For example, a player with 20% VP $ IP and 5 to 10 AF is considered an aggressive player, and usually will make a continuation bet, and can try to bully at other points. If the same player has 0.5 AF, it is a passive player, so you usually have to respect the stakes.
Players with 50% VP $ IP and 1 AF, just looking at AF, looks passive. But don’t forget you should see VPIP too, and this player is clearly aggressive because VPIP and 1 AF are very high.
